Deutschland

Home, sweet home.

Sometimes, that is. Whoever grew up in the eighties in an average German family usually travelled (and – especially Eastern Germans – had to travel) within the borders of their country. Flying was still extraordinarily expensive. Some families had a habit of going to Italy or Spain. Me, I pretty often had to go with my family to the North Sea, especially the island of Föhr. Haven’t been there ever since – and really don’t wanna go anymore. Though it’s probably a nice place.

Anyway, of course there are a lot of nice places in Germany, especially for short and week-end trips. Both East and West.
